365 Cards - Day 31: All Mixed Up

Here's the challenge:   Take an image (digi, stamp, etc.) and break it down into thirds - 1/3 no color, 1/3 patterned paper, 1/3 hand colored (markers, colored pencils, chalks, paint, etc.).It doesn't have to be in perfect thirds, just broken down into three parts.

This one was certainly a challenge, but I had the luxury of finishing my card late, so I could glean some ideas and inspiration from the other participants.  Wow, there are some talented ladies out there in the blogosphere, not the least of which was the 365 Cards Design Team member, Kim.  Her card's a real stunner.  Check it out.

My card started with a cute little 'Stampin' Up' image, stamped on white card stock and again on DP (for her dress).  I coloured her hat and skin - and it was very hard not to watercolour the sky and grass, but I restrained myself in the spirit of the challenge!  I did, however, have to add a bit of FlowerSoft for effect.  Ribbon, twine, funky purple paper, and a wonderful birds on a wire stamp from Artistic Outpost.

I also spent a bit of time making a couple of baby cards for a colleague and his wife who have a brand new baby boy.  No, he doesn't need two, I just kept cutting and pasting until I had two cards.  I'll use one now, and save the other for the next baby.  :)

Thanks for poppin' by.
