Triple Challenge + One More

First up is 365 Cards Challenge 147: Scraplift Saturday

Specifically, we were to select a card previously done by one of the design team members and scraplift. I chose a former Sketchy Sunday example that Amy did back on June 28th (Bowlin Distressed Flower) I love that card! The text & flower....

My card incorporates the lyrics of Eddie Vedder's "No Ceiling" off the soundtrack to "Into the Wild" When I watched that movie, before it was done, I leaned over to Harvey and said "I'm buying this sountrack!" I did, and it's been a favourite for 2 years. The last line of the song...this love has got no ceiling... clearly shows at the bottom of the card. I think this would be a nice one for a spouse or a dear friend. :)

Next, comes an entry into 3 challenges, which is the most I've ever managed to do (I can't imagine fitting more in... how stressful!)

365 Cards Challenge 146: Mirror Me

The challenge was to create symmetry on your card. Seemingly simple, this was not an easy task for me. I am not one of those people with identical candlestick holders on either side of her mantel... I like to group things. I like things slightly off kilter, with movement and balance created without directly symmetrical proportions. So I cheated on this card. :P

The main sketch and layout are symmetrical, but I couldn't resist cropping the photo so my daughter (isn't she gorgeous! - this was her wedding day) wasn't centered. I also couldn't resist the butterfly rub-on. LOL Trust me, this is as symmetrical as I get!

This card is also entered into Unscripted Sketches: Sketch It Saturdays # 16
I liked their sketch, and while I don't have the correct Nestabilities die to do that fancy scrolled thingy - I do have imagination, and used chipboard brackets to convey that shape.

The third challenge is Pile it On's Mostly Orange
I don't dislike orange, but I sure don't use it very often. I actually wish this particular card was blue. LOL Too late now, it's orange, and it's getting entered into PIO's challenge!!

I hope you're having a crafty wonderful weekend!

Wow! First, your daughter IS very beautiful! She could easily be a model! Next, I was laughing out loud as I read your 'oh so honest' blog entry! You, my friend, are a hoot! I love your symmetry comments - lol... I am the same way - If I have a short candlestick on the top left, I'm apt to have a tall one on the bottom right! I think your card is awesome! Great job!

such a great job, you have been very busy, I love it that you can't, or won't do symmetry I think un-symmetrical is more artsy, so just so it your own wonderful way, because you done good!!!!

I like your cards--especially the orange one even if you would have preferred blue!! That's neat how you used the brackets for the shape. I was brain-dead and just used squares. lol

Both of these are very pretty! Great job combining those challenges. I don't use orange that often either, but your layout is gorgeous! Love your take on this weeks sketch. So glad you're Unscripted this week! Come back and play again soon!

Hi Carolyn,
First, thank you for telling me about my blunder linking my card, I was in a rush because I had a party to go to.... it's been corrected. I love your scraplift card, I've tried to make that flower but failed miserably (lol)! Your DD is beautiful and your symmetrical card turned out great!

Both cards are beautiful, but the triple challenge one is just gorgeous! I love the chipboard pieces you used to create shape around the photo and how this is 'as symmetrical as you get.' I'm still learning how NOT to be symmetrical. Thanks for being Unscripted this week, I hope to see you play again soon.

You don't need that exact shape to join US!!!! And we hope you do join us again. Your daughter is GORGEOUS, and that card is beautiful. You are brave I would NEVER attempt a symmetrical card. I would love to see this card in blue!
